Things can only get better from here...
One definition of the term "manifest" is to put beyond doubt or question. I am now living by that definition beginning this year, 2013. The term "manifest" is mostly related to when the United States decided to move beyond the Mississippi River and expand westward. With that relation, I am sharing this site to show my expansion to greater things in life.
My name is Karleen Alexandria Lewis, and this is my manifestation. I am an alumni of Texas Woman's University with a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology. My ultimate educational goal is to obtain a Doctorate's degree in Physical Therapy and practice in acute care in the wonderful world of pediatrics. I love to read and have an eclectic taste in music. I love reading the latest research articles and journals on fitness and history, and I do enjoy an occasional reality show here and there. I am a dancer of over 16 years with training in many disciplines. I love musicals and action-thriller movies. I have a weakness for music from boy bands and strawberry cheesecake.
While I am awaiting a decision from the graduate schools I have applied to, I have been focusing my energy on getting back to what makes me happy. I have worked hard for the past three years to complete my undergraduate degree, and while I have a short break I am going to get back to things I used to do and explore new experiences.
My first goal is to get back into the world of pageantry. With the recent crowning of Miss Universe, the new Miss USA Nana Meriwether, and the new 2013 Miss America Mallory Hytes Hagan, the pageant fever has undoubtedly definitely hit everyone with a strong force. I initially started competing in pageants as a way to financially aid my college education. After one competition, my entire purpose changed. I enjoy giving back to my community, inspiring others, and constantly learning new skills from pageants. Since being in pageants, I have a deeper appreciation for the utilization of my degree in the world of health and fitness. I also have been blessed to inspire and educate my family and friends about being more conscious of their health and lifestyle choices. I have gained interview and social skills that I never dreamed of having. In middle school and high school, I was at my prime time of dancing. I danced for different companies in the Dallas and Fort Worth metropolitan area. which of course came with some media and publicity. At that time, I could barely form a sentence when being interviewed and often looked to a fellow dancer, my mom, or instructor to answer for me. Now I can confidently present myself to anyone at anytime, and I love it! With those skills, I have a great job and have held great leadership positions that I am very proud of. I have met some amazing women who I can now call friends in the world of pageants. Pageants have allowed to make friends and be apart of a sisterhood I never thought I would ever be apart of.
I have created a platform entitled "Don't Wait Too Late: Supporting the National Bone Marrow Registry", in which I have teamed with Be The Match in order to help the cause. In 2007, a good friend of mine passed away from receiving his bone marrow transplant too late. In 2011, my uncle passed away from not finding a donor at all until it was discovered after his passing that his own younger brother was a match. The main reason that these incidents happen was not only because of timing but because there is a strong need for more donors. That is why it is my personal mission to educate the public and motivate more people to become registered donors. I will target this through hosting bone marrow drives myself, participating in runs and other events, and volunteering with those who are going to give and/or receive a bone marrow transplant. For more information about bone marrow transplants, becoming a registered donor, or attend a local Be The Match event, please visit

I have also started a small mentoring program for young adults in the area who are preparing to apply and leave for college. I try to help them discover what their passions are and what they want to accomplish in the future. I connect them with others and help develop their own networking, social, and professional skills. I assist with finding scholarships for them to apply to, and edit essays when needed. My ultimate goal for each young adult that comes with questions to help them become more independent and find the best ways for them to achieve their goals.
Well, this is a little about me and my current starting point for the year, and I am very excited to share more with you all. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. Any and all support will be greatly appreciated.
